Bogotá was admitted to be part of the international organization Open Government Partnership (OGP) after complying with all the requirements of transparency, participation, use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) and the fight against corruption.

"This is a great achievement for the city because it makes it possible to make the district administration's commitment to an Open Government internationally visible, which will transform public management, under a model of intelligent governance that empowers citizens", said the Secretary General, Margarita Barraquer when knowing the decision of the international organization.

By being a member of this organization, of which only 20 territorial entities from all over the world are part, Bogotá will have international support for the implementation of this strategy and will exchange experiences with other governments and will be part of the main international reference organization in Open Government.

Barraquer added that, “The Open Government project, embodied in the New Social and Environmental Contract Development Plan for the XXI Century, an innovative model that improves the relationship between citizens and district entities, which allows citizens access to clear and relevant information encourages co-creation processes and generates added value to the city ”.

The OGP is an international community of national and local governments created in 2011 in which 78 countries currently participate, in alliance with international organizations of civil society and think tanks, to work on the promotion of democratic governments, citizen participation and the fight against corruption.
