The Mayor of Bogotá, Carlos Fernando Galán, and the President of Microsoft Latin America, Tito Arciniegas, were present at the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding. This agreement sets a general framework for cooperation between Bogotá's ICT (Information and Communications Technology) Council and the tech company to foster the creation, dissemination, and exchange of knowledge.

“These actions will allow us to maximize the use of current technological resources, optimize public management, accelerate the digital transformation process, and of course, strengthen citizens' trust in the district government,” stated Mayor Galán.
The agreement, signed by Juan Carlos Uribe, Microsoft's Director of Public Sector for Hispanic South America, and Bogotá's ICT Counselor, Diana Celis Mora, aims to leverage technology to improve citizen services and enhance trust in a more effective government.
"We will work on strengthening the digital skills of officials and contractors and implementing innovative solutions that promote a data culture and the strategic use of 4.0 technologies. With this alliance, we will more efficiently utilize the technological platforms and tools that Bogotá already possesses, boosting current and future digital transformation projects in the city," expressed ICT Counselor Diana Celis Mora.
The signing of this memorandum will encourage innovative practices for the implementation of smart territory projects in 'Bogotá, My City, My Home', enhancing the power of data in terms of generation, storage, exchange, strategic use, exploitation, and measurement.

It will also focus on the adoption and regulation of Artificial Intelligence and the development and strengthening of cybersecurity strategies, in addition to promoting digital skills among city officials and citizens.
