C40 Cities, the Brookings Center for Sustainable Development, the Women Deliver organization, UN Habitat and the World Organization of United Cities and Local Governments UCLG exalted the general lines of work and long-term vision proposed by the Administration of Mayor Claudia López through the Master Plan. These five organizations are among the most important centers of thought and development of urban planning that structure the territorial organization strategy of the most innovative metropolises on a global level.

These ringing endorsements represent a vote of confidence in the Master Plan core lines; care, greening and equality, as elements that place Bogotá on the forefront of progressive global cities and recognized the leadership of the Mayor as a clear commitment to comply with the 2030 Agenda:

I look forward to learning more details about the plans you will put in place to operationalize this vision, and we stand ready to offer analysis and support to help enable your progress.”

Anthony F. Pipa, Brookings Center for Sustainable Development.

“Women Deliver welcomes Bogota’s commitment to Agenda 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and appreciates how the Bogota Master Plan particularly aims to close the gender gaps and reduce social inequities.”

Bogotá, led by Mayor Claudia López, has been making important advances in climate action in recent years and both its Climate Action Plan and its Master Plan (POT), aligned with the Paris Agreement and the Goals of Sustainable Development, will ensure that this lasts over time.

"Bogota's decision to prioritize "care" as a major stake in its development agenda, placing it at the center of the city's urban planning, is visionary and will allow the city to respond to its challenges, not only today but also in the future. With the Master Plan (POT), the city shows a cutting-edge and transformative possibility of moving from the provision of public services to the provision of care services. It is an innovative change of model that, placing care not only as a city concept but also from a spatial and physical-territorial perspective, is setting an example for the international community to follow.

In addition to this support, the executive director of the United Nations Human Settlements Program (UN-Habitat), Maimunah Mohd Sharif, has also expressed her support. During her visit to Bogota on November 26, she stated that, “The POT should be approved and implemented, since it is good for the livelihood and quality of life throughout Bogotá. They have done an excellent job!”.
