Bogotá and the Central Region of Colombia are ready to host AdventureNEXT Latin America 2023, an event organized by the District Institute of Tourism (IDT), the Special Administrative and Planning Region (RAP-E), and the Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA).
This three-day event, which will take place in Bogotá from June 25 to 27, 2023, aims to position the natural and adventure tourism offerings based on the premise of tourism as an instrument of peace. Delegates, buyers, and media from the United States, Canada, Brazil, France, United Kingdom, and Mexico will attend and have the opportunity to firsthand experience the tourism offerings of Bogotá and the Central Region of Colombia. Additionally, local entrepreneurs will have the chance to present their tourism offerings as a destination to more than 80 tour operators.
According to Andrés Clavijo, Director of the IDT, "This will be an ideal space for negotiation and networking building between national and international entrepreneurs in the nature tourism segment, which will allow diversifying the city's tourism offer to create business opportunities and thus boost the sector's economy. During these three days, we expect to have more than 800 business meetings with 30 tour operators who will come to learn about the tourist offerings of 40 Colombian entrepreneurs, looking to increase the number of visitors and generate actions aimed at democratizing tourism."
Ricardo Agudelo Sedano, Manager of the RAP-E, stated that “The Central Region of Colombia is for many locals and foreigners the preferred destination, thanks to its natural, cultural, gastronomic, historical, and architectural attractions. That is why we join this international event, which seeks to position us as the excellent tourist attraction that we are."
Prior to AdventureNEXT Latin America 2023, from June 21 to 24, various activities such as familiarization trips, business meetings, training sessions, and workshops will be offered, where best practices in nature and adventure tourism will be shared. In addition, participants will enjoy a wide range of cultural experiences, traditional cuisine, and music from the territories that make up the Central Region of Colombia.
Bogotá's diverse tourist offerings, including its natural attractions such as 560 kilometers of bike paths and 5,000 urban parks, make it a worthy host of international events of world-class caliber. This year's AdventureNEXT Latin America 2023 will create opportunities for networking with the tourism industry, particularly in the nature and adventure segment of Bogotá and the Central Region of Colombia.
In addition, the RAP-E Central Region has developed a high-quality bike route system that connects various regions of Colombia, such as Bogotá, Boyacá, Cundinamarca, Huila, Meta, and Tolima, meeting international standards. There are a total of eleven different routes with more than 827 kilometers in length, covering 26 municipalities and reaching more than 54 tourist attractions.

"The main reasons and motivations that led us to choose Bogotá and the Central Region of Colombia as the venue for AdventureNEXT Latin America this year have to do with the desire to work collaboratively with the public sector, represented by RAP-E and IDT, and the adventure and nature tourism business sector in Colombia, to promote the country as a global tourism destination, with its major attractions such as cycle tourism or birdwatching," said Nicolás Caram, Director for the Latin America and Caribbean region of ATTA.
AdventureNEXT Latin America 2023 Bogotá promises to be a unique opportunity to network, learn, and experience a vibrant and history-filled culture while reflecting on the role of tourism in building peace. Interested parties can find more information on the event website: https://bit.ly/3LefsGz
