The ranking is led by Dickies Arena in Texas, followed by The OVO Hydro in Glasgow and Moody Center in Austin, Texas. Fourth place is held by 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland, followed by CFG Bank Arena in Baltimore, with Movistar Arena in Bogotá rounding out the top six.

The top ten is completed by Alexandra Palace (7) in London, Brisbane Centre (8) in Australia, Rod Laver Arena (9) in Melbourne, and Utilita Arena (10) in the United Kingdom.

Pollstar, a North American magazine specializing in the entertainment industry, highlighted that Movistar Arena in Bogotá sold over 263,000 tickets in the first half of 2024 alone, generating approximately US$15.9 million in box office sales.

“This recognition highlights the thriving state of tourism in Bogotá, which draws both domestic and international visitors to events at venues like the Movistar Arena,” said Andrés Santamaría, Director of the Bogotá Tourism Institute.

According to our latest 2023 Traveler Survey, which serves as a roadmap for developing new strategies to attract tourists to Bogotá, entertainment and leisure are the primary travel motives for international visitors (48%).

Vacations, recreation, and leisure are the leading reasons for travel among international tourists, according to 48.0% of respondents. This underscores the significance of concerts, festivals, and the general entertainment schedule in motivating travel. Additionally, 14.5% of domestic tourists visit the capital for the same reasons, aligning with this trend.

“Tourism significantly boosts the city's economy, especially when it comes to major events. To give you an example, events like Estero Picnic drew over 159,000 attendees over four days, of which more than 30,000 were tourists. In fact, an average of 30% of the audience at major city events are national and international tourists,” added Santamaría.

By the end of 2024, Movistar Arena is expected to host over 115 events, attracting more than 800,000 attendees, considering that from January to June, it has been the venue for more than 55% of Bogotá’s concerts.
