This measure will work from tomorrow, December 21, until January 15. This is an alternation model, where people can go out and access basic public services and public spaces based on the last number of their ID.
ODD DAYS: documents ending on 1-3-5-7-9 can go out.
EVEN DAYS: documents ending in 0-2-4-6-8 can go out.
Given the worrying speed of COVID-19 infections in the city, the Mayor of Bogotá, Claudia López, announced that as of next Monday, December 21, 2020 and until January 15, 2021, the pico y cedula measure will be resumed and only one member per family nucleus may go shopping. The mayor affirmed that these two measures of care are retaken to lower the speed of infections and avoid a bitter end of year. “In the last two weeks the speed of contagion has increased, because many people are letting their guard down. We have tried to raise awareness and guarantee accompaniment to families and businesses, but we cannot relax. If we do not take additional measures, we are going to end up having a bitter end of the year and that is not what we want, " said the district leader.
The pico y cedula will begin to apply from 00:00 hours on December 21st, and applies to any activity pertaining the acquisition and payment of goods and services, purchase of any product at retail and wholesale. Also, for banking, financial, notarial and citizen service procedures in public entities.
The measure will be applied in the same way that it was done in July of this year for supermarkets, mini-markets, shopping centers, banks, notaries and citizen services in public entities.
*For the hotel activity and the provision of gastronomic services in restaurants, the measure of peak and card will not be applied. This was established in Decree 304 of December 22, 2020.*
Health centers, pharmacies, funeral services, ecological walks and wetland tours will be exempted from this new measure. Additionally, in cases of notary, banking, financial and administrative services and procedures where the simultaneous appearance of two or more people is required, the exception will also apply.
"This is the time to keep applying self-care, please everyone who wants to have a meeting with their parents on December 24 and 31, should be isolated; the most contagions have been registered in the elderly: moms, dads, uncles and grandparents. That is why we always remind you of the permanent use of a masks, distancing, hand washing and voluntary isolation. So we can all spend a merry Christmas and a happy New Year without having anything to regret ”, reiterated Mayor Claudia López.
