The event brought together representatives from 28 countries, including the United States, Peru, Panama, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Mexico, Canada, Ecuador, Spain, and Colombia. It also featured 29 brands, including destinations and companies, and 13 regional and national industry associations. Among them, 60% were tourism sector planners, including both students and professionals.

“We must continue to invest in education, business connections, and research for our students and the next generation of leaders across all regions,” emphasized Neil Brownlee, International Chair of PCMA.

Lucio Vaquero, Regional Director for PCMA LATAM, shared his excitement: “I’m thrilled by what we’ve experienced here in Bogotá, as we near the end of Convening LATAM—the very first PCMA regional event in Latin America—the first PCMA regional event for Latin America. We specifically chose this city and this venue, and today we can confidently say we made the right choice. The outcome has been incredible. We’ve welcomed visitors from across Latin America and the world, including the PCMA Global Board, who are leaving truly impressed.”

Bogotá highlighted the power of the Latin American community, proving this is just the beginning of a rising force, built through collaboration among industry professionals. Latin America is quickly emerging as a key player in the global meetings tourism agenda, and this event was a decisive step forward.

  • “The successful delivery of Convening LATAM 2025 in Bogotá not only exceeded all expectations in terms of attendance and impact but also reaffirmed our city’s leading role in the global events industry. This gathering clearly demonstrated that Bogotá is ready to host world-class events, boosting MICE tourism, attracting investment, and strengthening our local value chain. Events like this show that thriving tourism drives broader urban development,” said Andrés Santamaría, Director of Bogotá’s Tourism Institute (IDT).

The message is clear: continued collaboration, industry professionalization, and collective effort are key to elevating the region’s position on the international stage.

Attendees praised the rewarding experience of connecting with the city, the country, and a global network of tourism leaders. Bogotá emerges with new partnerships, insights, and development opportunities for the sector.
