The San Pedro de Usme Parish is situated in the heart of Usme’s main square, this colonial-era parish was founded on March 2, 1718. Its surroundings reflect Usme’s rich history, which transitioned from a municipality in 1911 to a key supplier of construction materials during Bogotá’s urban boom in the mid-20th century. Although its brick factories, sand quarries, and stone pits shaped the city’s growth, they have also raised environmental concerns in the eastern hills.
