'Bogotá, My City, My Home', the capital of Colombia, sits over 2,600 meters above sea level on a large savanna on the Cundiboyacense plateau in the Andes mountains.

The Centro Internacional hosts numerous headquarters for national and international companies, as well as financial institutions, banks, and government and non-governmental organizations, making it a central hub for economic and business activity in the city and the country.

Culturally, the Centro Internacional also plays a significant role in the city. It houses several iconic sites such as the Jorge Eliécer Gaitán Theater, one of the main cultural stages in the city and host to significant artistic and cultural events over the years.

Additionally, you can find the National Museum of Colombia, the first museum founded in the country. This space offers national and international collections of history, art, and archaeology. Additionally, it provides a varied academic and cultural programming that includes lectures, concerts, theater performances, dance, and audiovisual screenings.

A few blocks from the Centro Internacional is the culinary area of La Macarena, known for its colorful eclectic-style houses, offering a diverse array of national and international cuisine restaurants, cafés, bakeries, art galleries, design shops, cultural spaces, and neighborhood life.

La Macarena is also known for housing La Santamaría Bullring, one of Bogotá's architectural gems now transformed into a cultural center, as well as the Torres del Parque, iconic buildings of the capital's architecture designed by Rogelio Salmona. This interesting neighborhood is also close to the Olaya Herrera National Park, Monserrate Hill, and La Candelaria historic district: iconic places in Bogotá.

A few blocks from the Centro Internacional is also Calle Bonita, another culinary area that offers a wide variety of restaurants, cafés, and bars, with unique culinary experiences. From homestyle Colombian cuisine to international options, visitors can enjoy delicious dishes in a lively and picturesque setting, perfect for exploring and enjoying with friends and family.

This block features beautiful old houses, which also host a great diversity of desserts and beverages.

Near the Centro Internacional, you'll find La Perseverancia Public Market, considered one of the capital's largest tourist-gastronomic attractions, offering typical food and selling a wide variety of fruits, vegetables, meats, fish, dairy products, grains, and other high-quality items.

This space boasts an artistic facade. On its 71 square meters, a mixed technique of mosaic and painting was applied by the renowned urban artist 'Guache' (Óscar González), representing the work that women have done in La Perseverancia traditional neighborhood and its market, with the face of a young peasant woman and the fire used to cook food with a multicolored corn cob. This space opens its doors from Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and on Saturdays and Sundays from 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Finally, you can visit the Parque de la Independencia – Parque Bicentenario, which has an important historical background surrounded by major recreational centers, including the Planetarium, the National Museum of Colombia, the Colpatria Tower, and the National Library.

It was a continuous green area that on its western side had the now-disappeared Centenario Park, and on the other the eastern hills of the city. For its opening, several kiosks were built, such as La Luz, by the Italian architect Pietro Cantini, which was a reproduction of the one built in Versailles, as well as a pond and a pagoda.

How to get to the Centro Internacional of Bogotá?

It is located in the central-eastern area of the city. From El Dorado International Airport, you can take 26th Street or El Dorado Avenue eastward. You can also arrive by TransMilenio and get off at the Museo Nacional station.
