“We are thrilled to announce that Bogotá is now a member of Destinations International, a prestigious global organization that unites cities committed to excellence and sustainability in tourism,” said Andrés Santamaría, director of the Bogotá Tourism Institute (IDT), at the Destinations International Annual Convention held in Tampa, Florida.

According to figures from the Bogotá Tourism Observatory, the city is currently enjoying a high period in tourism, with a 4.3% increase in foreign visitors (706,071 people) from January to May 2024, a figure higher than the same period last year.

Additionally, international flights to Bogotá increased by 17.3%, boosting the economy and promoting more job opportunities, and encouraging the capital to continue improving the experience for visitors.
