In 2024, the city has garnered multiple accolades, notably being named the sixth-best destination in the world and the top in Latin America by travelers on the TripAdvisor platform.

Bogotá has also been recognized as a leading destination for business tourism in Latin America and the Caribbean, achieving a historic milestone by ranking in the top 3 cities preferred for MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) according to the latest report from the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA).

Furthermore, data provided by the Colombian Association of Travel and Tourism Agencies (Anato) show a 15% increase in passenger traffic on national and international flights in the first quarter of 2024, compared to the same period last year.

Among the most popular routes, significant growth has been observed on the Bogotá-Pereira route, with an increase of 29.37%, followed by Bogotá-Bucaramanga at 20.07%, and Cali-Bogotá at 17.19%.

With these figures, Bogotá continues to progress as a renowned tourist destination both nationally and internationally, as detailed in the report published by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Tourism, which indicates that Colombia welcomed 1.6 million visitors in the first quarter of 2024, with Bogotá being among the most visited destinations by non-resident foreigners.

The Ministry's report specifies that Bogotá is the most chosen destination, accounting for 36.7% of visits, followed by other cities like Medellín (23.8%) and Cartagena (21.0%). The primary reason for travel is leisure and recreation.

The IDT celebrates the significant increase in visitor flow to the country and the city of Bogotá. In this regard, it reaffirms its commitment to continue promoting the Colombian capital as a distinguished global destination, highlighting its abundant natural resources, diverse gastronomic offerings, and rich cultural heritage.
