Through the Open Data platform, citizens can keep track of COVID-19 data in Bogotá, such as the number of cases confirmed o the number of available Intensive Care Units (ICU). The platform provides access to government statistics, maps and media contents in all fields, such as agriculture, environment, justice, housing, transportation, education, gender, commerce, security, among others.
Bogotá is the first city in Colombia and one of the first capitals in the world to make public all the data that determine the curve of the pandemic.
“If we are going to make life or death decisions, they will be made as collectively as possible and always based on information that we can all access,” said Mayor Claudia López.
Open Data is administered by the Land Registry, and has received more than 29,000 visits and 15,000 downloads.
Other statistics available are, for example, the dates with the highest number of infections, segments of the population that have been most infected, and even the health status of patients who are hospitalized and of those who receive care at home.
This portal is updated daily with the latest information and includes information of what each official department is doing in terms of budget, services, and strategies, among other topics.
