Spanish newspaper El País recently published an article titled "A Laboratory for People, the Planet, and Democracy," in which highlights several of the most emblematic projects of Mayor Claudia López's administration, such as the Care Blocks and the Master Plan: Bogotá Greens Up 2022-2035, which prioritize the care for people, the planet and democracy.

The news article highlights the current Administration's work in transforming Bogotá into a 30-minute city by bringing services closer to it's citizens, implementing a sustainable mobility system composed of the Metro system, 'Regiotram', aerial cable transportation and consolidating the Bogotá-Cundinamarca Metropolitan Region.

"The first female mayor of Bogotá, Claudia López, has spent three and a half years creating a system to ensure that actions over the territory don't play against the population in ecological, social and economic terms. All plans focus in the construction of collective efforts rather than inaugurating isolated emblematic buildings," the media piece states.

The publication emphasizes in the care policy as the guiding principle of the current government in Bogotá, with the Care Blocks standing out as an unprecedented territorial strategy.

"Under the motto 'Bogotá Cuidadora' (Caring Bogotá), the Colombian capital pursues a new understanding of co-responsibility led by women, according to an unprecedented territorial strategy against relentless unpaid work" the publication points out.

Considering that Mayor Claudia López's administration is in it's final months, the Spanish newspaper highlights how this city government has focused on managing long-term, inclusive, and transparent public policies.

"These strategies are anchored in something that has been absent from most public policies in Latin America: Transparency, a long-term vision, and prioritizing those who inhabit the city outskirts", asserts.
