“Welcome to Bogotá, welcome to Colombia. Doing business with entrepreneurs from Bogotá is good business; doing business with Colombian companies is good business; doing business in Bogotá and in Colombia is good business.” With those words, Bogotá Mayor Carlos Fernando Galán officially opened the Macrorrueda de las Américas – Colombia, the Country of Beauty 2026 on Tuesday, April 14, welcoming more than 2,000 Colombian companies and 1,000 international buyers to Corferias.

The main goal of Macrorrueda is to create trade and investment opportunities across Colombia, while also promoting foreign direct investment and strengthening the country’s presence in international markets.

“We are ready to work with you, using every tool the State can provide to understand the role of the private sector and to support you in finding, in this city and in this country, the right destination for your investments,” the mayor added during the opening ceremony.

The event is expected to generate an economic impact of more than USD 5.2 million, particularly in sectors such as hospitality, gastronomy, and transportation.

The program includes business meetings between Colombian companies and international buyers, investment project presentations, and dedicated spaces for strategic networking.

Running alongside the business agenda is an academic program featuring talks on business opportunities, financing, and tourism.

The event was organized by ProColombia in partnership with the Mayor’s Office of Bogotá, the Secretariat for Economic Development of Bogotá, the Tourism Institute of Bogotá, and other city agencies.

Hosting this international gathering further strengthens Bogotá’s position as a strategic destination for business and world-class events, while also reinforcing its profile as a city open to investment, innovation, and economic growth.
