The report outlines the numbers of national and international tourists who visited the city in 2023, their preferences when visiting the capital, the increase in passengers at transport terminals, air connectivity, and the hotel occupancy rate in Bogotá in 2024.

"In the first half of the year, we’ve seen an increase of nearly 6% in international tourists compared to last year. While we continue to attract visitors from our traditional markets like the United States, Spain, Brazil, and Peru, it is crucial that we start exploring new global markets to keep Bogotá as a preferred destination. Airlines are reporting high occupancy levels, with an average of 80-90% of seats filled. In terms of transportation, we’ve seen significant growth in land mobility, with

nearly a 30% increase at our transport terminals, which are just as important as the airport. This highlights the importance of integrating regional tourism, taking advantage of the natural and rural assets of nearby departments to offer a unique tourism experience in Bogotá," said Andrés Santamaría, Director of the District Institute of Tourism (IDT).

"We need to understand that Bogotá is a tourist city, and we must work together to improve customer service across all points of the tourism chain and continue growing in numbers, because tourism generates jobs and drives the city’s economic development," he added.
