In June 2024, Airbnb reported that the Colombian capital ranked among the top destinations with the highest number of bookings by travelers celebrating LGBTI Pride. Portal Bogotá has compiled several inclusive spots where respect for diversity is a top priority.
LGBTI Museum in Bogotá
The Stonewall LGBTI Museum, located in the Teusaquillo neighborhood, is an initiative that honors the community’s struggles and rights through art and culture. Named after the iconic New York bar that sparked the June 28, 1969 riots—marking the beginning of Pride celebrations worldwide—the museum houses 14 galleries, including a portrait collection of historical figures like Leonardo da Vinci, Socrates, and Plato, celebrated not only for their contributions but also for their diverse sexual identities.
A standout feature is a series of iron sculptures by renowned Cali-based artist Jhon Fitzgerald Serna, including one that depicts a young gay man from Sincelejo (Sucre), who lost his left arm after a neighbor violently attacked him for being gay.
Founder Rubén Darío Gómez created the museum to portray the violence and discrimination the community has endured, but also to celebrate sexual diversity through books, magazines, films, and clay sculptures—including those highlighting pre-Columbian queer culture. The museum features valuable artwork from Asia, Europe, and Latin America.

San Felipe District
Once a neighborhood filled with workshops in the Barrios Unidos district, San Felipe has evolved into Bogotá’s creative and artistic hub. Art galleries gave it a sophisticated edge and became a platform for local talent. Today, the district boasts a rich mix of Colombian fusion and international cuisine, artisanal bakeries, pizzerias, and designer ice cream shops—while maintaining its community vibe.
Emerging designers know the district for “Open San Felipe,” an open-air market featuring organic food, handmade crafts, and pieces. While everyone is welcome, the LGBTI community especially finds a safe, inclusive space here, supported by diversity-friendly policies and a workforce that includes many LGBTI individuals.
