The newspaper El Tiempo, one of the most important newspapers in the country, made a review a year after Bogotá elected Claudia López as mayor of the capital. The note listed some of the main milestones since her election day; described her administration as dynamic and highlighted the fact that her mandate has been characterized, among other aspects, because “For the first time, Bogotá realized the need to redistribute the burden of caring for the home, originally placed on the shoulders of Women; also because it put into practice the redistribution of road space, prioritizing pedestrians and cyclists; and the construction of a Metropolitan Region ”.

All these bets have been framed in the District Development Plan approved in March of this year, in which compliance with the Sustainable Development Goals has been prioritized through an intersectoral strategy.

El Tiempo highlighted that despite the difficulties López has faced, such as the national strike and the pandemic, his image is very favorable according to recent Gallup polls.

The newspaper quoted Claudia López in reference to what this mayor's office has been, at such atypical moments in history, “I remember that when I started I told them that I won in one city and got another; today I say that I won in a city and I got another planet”.
