Bogotá joins eleven other cities as they take part of the Global Cities Climate Action Exhibition, a virtual pavilion organized by the British design company, Arup alongside the climate leadership group C40. This platform presents an opportunity to showcase examples of transformative climate action that are being carried out by various cities around the world.
The aim of the expo is to inspire other urban leaders and citizens to facilitate a speedy transition towards zero emission. In addition to Bogotá, 10 cities of the 97 members of C40 were present: Auckland, Beijing, Istanbul, Jakarta, Lima, London, Los Angeles, Bombay, Nairobi and Washington, D.C.

Each city has its own pavilion in which visitors can explore various examples of impactful climate action initiatives that each city has overseen.

Mayor Claudia López welcomes visitors to the Bogotá exhibition in a short video that presents the steps that the city has taken to address the climate crisis while emphasising the fundamental role that children play. "They are the ones who are best equipped to teach adults the new challenges and new habits that we must adopt for this era of climate change."
The Global Cities Climate Action Exhibition will be held after COP26 to lead collective action by example.
