The 'New Bogotans,' as Mayor Claudia López has named the migrant population, now have a public policy for migrants, a robust roadmap that defines planning, guides processes with a long-term vision, and adapts to changes in dynamic social realities.
"The Public Policy for the Welcoming, Inclusion, and Development of New Bogotans is the result of the coordinated effort of the city's entities and the support of international cooperation organizations such as the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the World Bank, the Embassy of Canada, and the German Technical Cooperation (GIZ)," emphasized Mayor Claudia López.
The newly approved roadmap has an approximate investment of 2.8 trillion Colombian pesos for the next 12 years, ensuring migrants' access to education, health, employment, and decent housing, among other services.
