In the development of the great forum on powerful women organized by Forbes, Bancolombia and Servientrega; Forbes Colombia presents for the first time the ranking of "The 50 powerful women of the country", a top that highlights fifty Colombian leaders in the business, political, artistic, sports and academic sectors of the country.  

The Mayor of Bogota shares this recognition with people like the activist Francia Márquez, winner of the Goldman Environmental Prize, the 'Nobel of the environment'; Angélica Guerra, the director of Apple TV for Latin America; the economist Ana María Ibáñez, advisor to the IDB; Ángela Hurtado, president of the organization Women in Connection. 

Forbes highlighted that the pandemic did not stop the New Social and Environmental Contract, which is the name of the District Development Plan of the current administration of Claudia Lopez, which has among its purposes to combat inequities, poverty, care for the environment and give a gender focus to its model of government, "The pandemic returned women to the home. The pandemic brought women back into the home. It put the burden of unpaid care on their shoulders again," Forbes highlights in his article how important the Mayor's strategy has been to deliver Basic Income and allow women to have more access to education and the labor market.

For this selection, criteria such as the resources they manage, their spheres of influence and the impacts of their projects in the business, media, technology, finance, philanthropy, politics and art sectors were taken into account. 

Forbes, one of the highest level publications in specialized economic and political journalism worldwide, accompanied this list with an analysis of the situation of women's equality in Colombia.
