During the lockdown, and in order to stop contagion from spreading further, the city's local administration ordered the following venues to shut down completely:

  • Public swimming pools
  • Recreation and sports facilities
  • Regional, metropolitan and zonal parks
  • The pedestrian path to the Sanctuary of the Virgin of Monserrate.

However, since the gradual ease of the lockdown was announced, it was also announced that citizens who wished to exercise would be able to do so in the hours between 6:00 and 10:00 a.m. Allowed activities are: biking, running and walking, and exercisers must remain within a one-kilometer radius of their homes.

This measure only applies to adults 18 to 60 years of age. Children over 6 will also be allowed outside, for a period no longer than thirty minutes, provided they have a responsible adult with them at all times and they are all wearing face masks.
